How I discovered Caleb Peinado’s music:

In 2020 I was experimenting with Submithub, a hellish place where you buy credits to submit songs to spotify playlisters and bloggers and the like (if you make niche music like me, you get rejection after rejection until eventually you quit). After trying a few campaigns I was about to projectile vomit at the screen in frustration, when I remembered I had my own spotify playlist with a couple thousand followers… hmm, maybe I could become a curator MYSELF, and then other people could send ME their music and I would be the one to reject THEM hahahahaha and then THEY would projectile vomit at THEIR SCREENS BAHAHAHAHA!!!!

So, I became a curator, being paid in credits which I would use to get ever more rejections from other curators. But an unexpected thing happened… every now and then, I’d say about 5% of the time, in amongst all the terrible music, I found some absolutely class tunes, by people around the world (for example Japan, Mexico, Turkey, Australia, USA) who were just like me, making tunes and trying absolutely anything to get them out there.

At one point, I came across an artist based in Olympia, Washington, USA – 28-year old Mexican-American Caleb Peinado. His music cut through the noise like a diamond chainsaw through butter. Straight away I was transfixed… Next-Wave-of-Braindance-jazzy-IDM with a genius level of flow... the next in producer line to AFX, Luke Vibert and Bodgan Raczynski.

I contacted him through Soundcloud 11 months ago and we began a long conversation. I quickly realised he has a vast knowledge of IDM, including a deep knowledge of the entire catalogues of Luke Vibert and AFX. He knows every break used in every track! Unbelievable stuff.

I am extremely proud to announce his signing to Zoitrax. We will release two albums of his music in 2023. The first is “Live At Giselle’s House” which is a liveset recorded at Giselle’s House, a music/circus arts space in Olympia. It was recorded on December 10th 2022, and took about 6 weeks to prepare.

It gives a flavour of his sound to get you ready for his debut full length album “Music For eSports” which will be dropping on Zoitrax shortly.
